Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. This opportunity seeks experienced Sign Language Interpreters to provide essential support to hard of hearing students in an elementary school setting in North Fort Myers, FL. The assignment involves full-time, on-site work within a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program, focusing on one-on-one student support to ensure clear communication and accessibility. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation services for individual students in the DHH program. Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff to support educational inclusion. Collaborate with educational teams to adapt communication strategies tailored to student needs. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and ethical guidelines. Qualifications and Experience: Valid EIPA score of 3.0 or higher is required. Prior experience interpreting in educational settings, especially with elementary-aged students, is preferred. Ability to perform on-site work exclusively in an elementary school environment. Current and clear fingerprint clearance through the Florida AHCA Clearinghouse or ability to obtain a JLA badge. Strong communication skills and sensitivity to the needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Location and Schedule: Position located in North Fort Myers, FL, working at one elementary school site. Full-time hours, up to 37.5 hours per week. Contract position with an anticipated start date as soon as possible through June 1, 2026.
