Job Description:

NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Director of Software Development to join our client---s team in Palm Harbor, Florida. This is a permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure objectives are defined and team objectives are met
• Consult on UI projects and process development
• Ensure production deadlines are met
• Be involved with the company strategic planning
• Review performance of programs
• Correct any deficiencies
• Provide direction and best practices for UI Modernization projects
• Adding value to our technology via understanding of the SDLC, SQL 2005/08, .Net Programming technologies
• Be involved with the hiring, training and development of team members
• Collaborate with leadership and team members
• Evaluate complex interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part
• Provide direction and suggestions on conversion activities for Unemployment and Workforce projects
• Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs
• Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls
  
  Qualifications
  
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of programming languages and procedures
  • Previous knowledge and/or experience reporting and analysis services
  • Previous experience with conversion standards and tools
  • Ability to participate in conversion meetings and provide meaningful suggestions on resolving conversion problems
  • At least ten years of experience in an OO software development environment
  • Knowledge of Source Control and Microsoft Team Foundation Server
  • At least ten years .NET (VB/ASP) programming experience required
  • Proven ability to adhere to Company policies and procedures and to handle day-to-day team management items, such as approving time off requests, conducting employee reviews, and related activity
  • Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports
  • Solid knowledge and experience with SQL Server Reporting Services and Analysis Services
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications
  • Knowledge of computer flow charts and of programming logic and codes
  • Advanced experience utilizing SQL Server
  • Knowledge/experience with HTML, VBA, JavaScript, Transact SQL, VB.Net, ASP.Net, Visual SourceSafe, Microsoft SQL Server and/or Microsoft Team Foundation Server
  • Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications
  • Prior development experience with Microsoft-based Reporting tools
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and lead small Development teams
  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
