Job Description:
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for maximizing revenue opportunities through the
development and implementation of effective transient/group
inventory and pricing strategies based on future demand forecast,
current and historical trends. Monitoring and management of
inventory via various distribution channels including, but not
limited to PMS, Internet, GDS and OTA's. Oversee the Reservation
Department ensuring outstanding customer service, reservation sales
process effectiveness and enforcement of policies. Maintains a
positive and professional liaison with all resort departments to
ensure complete satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
-Through report analysis, create accurate future forecasts.
-When demand is projected to exceed capacity, implement appropriate
inventory restrictions to capture optimal revenue customers (based
on arrival date, average rate, and length of stay).
-Monitor, update and maintain rate/inventory on all in-house and
online sources. Produce regular pace reports and forecasts.
-Review and implementation of room accommodation, rate inventory
and LOS in all channels.
-Ensure group inventory and cut-off dates are managed according to
demand.
-Work with Front Office Manager and/or Reservation Manager to
ensure that sell-out strategies are in place. Consulting and
fostering relationships with third party intermediaries such as
Expedia and Booking.com to gain maximum exposure and revenue gains
for the hotel.
-Ensure packages are built correctly and revenue allocations meet
the requirements of the MLA.
-Oversee Reservations Manager and Reservations Sales team to ensure
a professional, positive, and productive working environment.
-Direct the Reservations team in a sales environment to meet
leisure budget expectations, communicating new promotions,
programs, and strategies.
-Oversee Groups Rooms Coordinator and ensure inventory and housing
procedures are followed.
-Work with the Sales Department to ensure appropriate pricing and
inventory strategies are being enforced.
-Manage reservations functionality of Property Management System to
maintain accurate coding and reporting processes.
-Professionally represent the hotel by participating in client and
industry functions (pre-convention meetings, guest receptions,
industry events, etc.)
-Continually monitor actions of competitive hotels (product quality
improvements, supply changes, pricing strategies, service
offerings, etc.).
-Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry
organizations and events.
-Provide constructive feedback to all departments.
-Be a leader and a role model to all employees.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
-High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required ;
Bachelor's degree preferred . Four years of revenue management
experience required.
REQUIREMENTS
-Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary
language(s) used in the workplace.
-Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication
process.
-Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
-Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee
acting as a team leader.
-Desire to participate as part of a team.
-Complete knowledge of hotel rooms resort services available to
guests.
-Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external
customers exercising patience, tact, and diplomacy.
-Must possess proficient computational ability.
-Must possess proficient computer skills, including, but not
limited to, iVvy, Springer Miller Systems, and Microsoft
Office.
-Operate Internet Reservation service and Property Management
Systems for the purposes of creating, changing, pre-blocking and
canceling reservations. Maintain room and rate integrity on all
online booking sources as well as Call Center.
-Comprehension of the reservation sales process.
-Analytical approach to problem solving.
-May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal
with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
-Most work tasks are performed indoors. The temperature is moderate
and controlled by the hotel environmental systems.
-Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking
and standing are required the rest of the working day. This
includes traveling to and from meetings. Length of time of these
tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
-Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other
departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
-Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
-Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive
motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
-Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of
communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
-Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions
being those of near vision and depth perception.
-Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment
such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone phone, FAX
machines, photocopiers, and other office equipment as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
-Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment,
communicate with others, effectively deal with customers, and
accept constructive criticism from supervisors
-Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with
interruptions
