EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty is essential. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain a State Medical License for the state(s) where they will practice. Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty is preferred, though Board Eligibility is mandatory. Once board certified, the primary care provider (PCP) is responsible for maintaining their certification through necessary MOC, CME, and/or retaking board exams as required. A current DEA number for prescribing controlled substances (Schedules II-V) is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
