This position requires FireTEAM testing through National Testing Network (NTN) and a valid CPAT. CPATs from any verifiable IAFF CPAT testing site will be accepted. All testing must be completed by August 31, 2016. Interviews for selected candidates will be September 7th and 8th, 2016. Salary Information: Starting salary for Firefighter/EMT is $45,001.62. Starting salary for Firefighter/Paramedic is $49,502.23; working a 24/48 hour work schedule averaging 56 hours per week. East Lake Fire Rescue also offers many community interactive services/opportunities such as: CPR and first aid instruction, Certified Child Safety Seat Installation, Blood Pressure Checks, Home Safety and Pool Inspections, free smoke detectors, "Santa's Helper" Christmas Program, Fire Safety Programs with local Schools, an annual "Safety Day" Open House, and a "Safe Place" for troubled teens and "Safe Haven" for newborns. The East Lake Fire Rescue is located in North East Pinellas County and is primarily a suburban community covering 33 square miles in unincorporated Tarpon Springs, Palm Harbor and Oldsmar. East Lake Fire Rescue is a full time paid fire department consisting of 33 line personnel (including Division Chiefs, Lieutenants, Driver-Engineers, Paramedics and EMTs), three administrative chiefs and two administrative assistants. East Lake Fire Rescue has three stations, two ALS engines, an ALS squad, a reserve engine, a brush truck, a water truck, an antique fire engine and four staff vehicles. East Lake Fire Rescue is part of the Pinellas County, Florida EMS system. Pinellas County EMS is an integrated countywide system which provides first response ALS by fire departments coupled with a contracted ambulance transport service, using a priority dispatch methodology. East Lake Fire District is also part of an integrated automatic aid network with other fire departments in Pinellas County. This means that East Lake will respond as the closest appropriate unit to emergency incidents outside the District borders, and surrounding departments will do the same for the East Lake District as needed.
