The role of the Payroll Analyst will be to compile payroll and pay data, maintain payroll records and update and maintain pay information by performing the following duties.This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday 8:30 - 5:00. Once employees are out of their initial training period, we offer a flexible schedule, which allows you to arrive any time between 7:00 and 9:00 AM and leave between 3:30 and 5:30 PM. This is a non-exempt salary role, which may require occasional overtime in the evenings/weekends as needed.The pay for this position will be based upon experience.Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains and Manages Annual Cost of Living Adjustment(s) (COLA's), including tracking employee eligibility, obtaining approval and updating payroll software.
  • Compiles Pay Change Paperwork and Reports; records data concerning transfer of employees between departments; maintains payroll records in compliance with government regulations; updates payroll software with pay rate changes and informs the employee as designated.
  • Processing of multi-company, multi-state payroll, including the set-up of newstates and associated tax jurisdictions as needed.
    • Prepares holiday pay report for approval, inputs holiday pay into payroll software.
    • Prepares and distributes annual W-2's to all current and ex-employees.
    • Prepares, reviews and Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
    • Becomes the expert on system applications, processes and configuration as related to payroll functions; sets up needed improvements or implementation in coordination with payroll provider for payroll or tax needs; sets up security access for employees.
    • Prepares computer input forms, enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
    • Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
    • Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, garnishments, withholdings, bonuses, and miscellaneous entries, such as retro pay etc. for each employee to update master payroll records; meets with employees to communicate and provide required employee copies as needed.
    • Prorates expenses to be debited or credited to each department for cost accounting records.
    • Keeps records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
    • Reviews and approves payroll deductions and entry's; verifies terminated and newly hired salary employees to prepare for each payroll; reviews salary deductions, PTO Payouts etc.; Print's salary employee timesheets for payroll; prints five random hourly timesheets for payroll.
    • Running the payroll cycle and submits final Payroll for processing to Payroll vendor.
    • Prepares and issues paychecks.
    • Upload ACH funding files for semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls.
    • Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions as requested and monthly for DOL.
    • Completes Pay Rate Market Analysis regularly to ensure NTC is not below the established target average percentile for Employee Pay. Proposes updates to the pay scale as needed.
    • Maintains accurate and effective pay scale for each position within the company as designated; updates pay breakdown forms accordingly as well as in the payroll system.
    • Assists in companywide viability verification via payroll records, hours worked, rates, etc.
    • Prepares and compiles payroll related records as designated for all audits and year end compliance and recordkeeping, including NTC Annual Financial Audit, 401K Audit, unemployment issues, Workers Compensation Audit etc.
    • Prepares census data as requested.
    • Fills in for Human Resources Personnel in their absence to ensure coverage for the department as needed or requested.
    • Other duties as assignedAdditional Skills and Requirements:
      • Previous experience working with payroll software applications including Great Plains, PayScale, Paycom, ADP etc.
      • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience strongly preferred
      • Experience processing multi-state payroll strongly preferred
      • Experience with payroll state tax setup etc. strongly preferred
      • Experience processing payroll for large employers with 500+ employees strongly preferred
      • Advanced computer knowledge.
      • Advanced experience with Excel.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
      • Ability to follow precise and accurate instructions.
      • Ability to work in a team environment or on one's own.
      • Great communication skills.
      • Familiarity with NTC's Statistic Program.
