Job Description Job Description Robert Half has partnered with a firm in growth mode looking for an experienced personal injury (auto, trucking and premises liability), product liability, professional liability, products liability and other injury-related litigation paralegal to join our St. Petersburg, Florida office . The ideal candidate will possess a proficient knowledge of Florida State and Federal rules of procedure including discovery and expert witness rules. An Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, or a Paralegal Certificate and at least three (3) years of law-related experience as a paralegal in a law firm or business is required. Experienced Litigation Paralegal tasks will include: •Preparing pleadings •Responding to discovery requests •Propounding discovery •Preparing and Issuing subpoenas •Creating medical chronologies •Communicating with, retaining and working with medical and legal expert witnesses •Communicating with clients and insurance adjusters •E-file court documents in state and federal court •Conducting legal research and factual investigations as may be needed •Prepare trial binders and exhibits •Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices •Gather relevant information from a variety of sources •Other tasks as requested by the attorney Experienced Litigation Paralegal Qualifications: • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, or a Paralegal Certificate •At least three (3) years of law-related experience as a paralegal in a law firm or business •Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred) •Experience in Personal Injury, auto and premises liability, or other injury related practice areas (preferred) •Must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices, etc. •Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment •Extensive computer and database expertise; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Worldox (preferred) Discovery, Civil Litigation, Trial Preparation, Case Management Software, Litigation, Insurance Defense, Insurance Defense Litigation
