Job Description:

POSITION OBJECTIVE

To create a family atmosphere through customer service and facilitating family-oriented programs. To oversee and develop the Camp Nessie program. To represent the Recreation Department in resort committees. To work and supervise at the Loch Ness Pool. To plan and assist with corporate teambuilding and holiday events. To assist pool attendants with scheduling a variety of daily recreation activities. This is a seasonal Full-time position beginning in May and ending in August. This role will report to the Recreation and Events Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


-Develop and oversee the Camp Nessie program.


-Plan and assist with all team building and holiday recreation events.


-Work and supervise at the Loch Ness Pool when necessary.


-Ensure customer service and safety standards are being met by staff at all times.


-Initiate daily family recreation activities for pool.


-Maintain Camp Nessie supply inventory.


-Prepare daily & weekly activity plans for Camp Nessie.


-Maintain cleanliness in Camp Room(s).


-Handling Camp Nessie reservations & payments.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:


-CPR Certification


-Perform exceptional communication skills throughout all functions of the job (i.e. guests, department managers and fellow employees).


-Make guests requests your top priority.


-Adhere to hotel safety standards.


-Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned by Manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum one year recreation management experience required; or one year related experience and/or training in a supervisory role required. Camp counselor or childcare experience essential. Exceptional customer service and event planning skills preferred.

REQUIREMENTS

-Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
-Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks while maintaining a pleasant demeanor.
-Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
-Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
-Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
-Must possess basis computational ability and basic computer skills.
-Most skills are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader.
-May be required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

-Most work tasks are performed outdoors.
-Must be able to stand for up to 7 hours per day. Sitting may be required during the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
-Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
-Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. On a regular and continuing basis.
-Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
-Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
-Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning/inspection tasks.
-Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
-Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
-Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
-Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
-Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
